Back in the Bronx. Everlast Returns Home to Support the Next Generation of Boxers
Everlast Partners with Bronx Legends Boxing Academy to Invest in Bronx Youth Through Boxing
Founded in the Bronx in 1910, Everlast is returning to its roots through a new partnership with Bronx Legends Boxing Academy, a free youth boxing academy dedicated to creating opportunities for young people across the Bronx, New York.
The partnership will see Everlast provide annual financial support alongside donations of essential boxing equipment and training gear, helping ensure young athletes have access to the tools they need to train, compete and develop both inside and outside the ring.
From boxing rings and punching bags to boxing gloves, boxing shoes, headgear and groin guards, Everlast will help equip the academy's students with the same types of equipment used by boxers around the world.
A Shared Mission to Build Champions in and Out of the Ring
Bronx Legends Boxing Academy was founded by filmmaker and director Jay Bulger with a vision of using boxing as a vehicle for positive change.
More than a boxing gym, Bronx Legends operates as an academy that combines boxing instruction with mentorship, academic support, wellness initiatives and personal development programmes. The goal is not simply to develop better athletes, but to help young people build confidence, discipline, resilience and life skills that will serve them long after their boxing careers.
Located in the Bronx, the academy provides free access to training and support for young people aged 12-21, removing many of the barriers that can prevent participation in organized sport.
Essential Boxing Equipment for Bronx Students
Access to high-quality equipment is critical for safe and effective training. Through the partnership, Everlast will provide a wide range of boxing and training essentials, including:
- Boxing rings
- Punching bags
- Boxing gloves
- Boxing shoes
- Headgear
- Groin guards
- Training apparel
- Additional boxing and fitness equipment
These donations help ensure students can focus on learning, developing and reaching their potential without the financial burden often associated with boxing equipment.
By providing professional-standard gear, Everlast is helping create an environment where every student can train safely and confidently while pursuing their goals in the sport.
Why This Partnership Matters
Boxing has long played a unique role within communities across New York City and particularly within the Bronx. For many young people, local boxing gyms and academies provide far more than athletic training. They offer structure, mentorship, accountability and a sense of belonging.
The partnership between Everlast and Bronx Legends Boxing Academy reflects a shared belief that boxing can be a powerful force for positive change. By investing in equipment, facilities and young athletes, both organizations are helping create opportunities for the next generation of Bronx boxers.
